I gave him 4 big ones all at once.
Kind of a birthday tradition to give him a pile
He got so stuffed...
First he goes through and eats all the seeds and then starts on the flesh.
He eats until his eyes practically roll back in his head.
Good times.

The Rickeybird has now flown twice while wearing his Gladware helmet. I can't catch him on my cam but I had some fun Photoshopping this little bombardiere...

Yup.
And he is such a handful... I can't imagine having more, though I would love a 'tiel and a lovebird and maybe a flock of budgies. I'm sure he'd raise holy Hades if I took on more bords. He already has to deal with my ol' man. That was AWFUL, when Kirby moved in.

I can't believe that he loves his plastic hat so well that he flies with it. That has to be so funny.

I am determined to get a photo or video. Problem is, his flights in the helmet (only 2 times so far ) are short. He seems able to see and land safely. If he shows any potential for hurting himself, I'll have to take it away from him, I suppose.

 he needs his helmet because he is a very safety conscious test pilot! As to the chiles and his eyes rolling back, I bet it's because they are half popping out from eating the super HOT seeds! Lord, I don't know how they do it! I have to wash my hands with lemon and sugar two and three times in order to get all the 'heat' out of them when I wash and cut them for mine!
