My loving name for her is Brat and she answers to it.

I could not wait any longer to set up a room for the Amazons. They are loose in the house again. Rainbow is easy to control. He can't get off the table I put him on. Myrtle on the other hand seems to have settled a little. The only problem she has caused is flying into the back of Aunt Betty's head. She bit me while I was holding Rainbow (did not break skin). She is so jeleous of Rainbow.
They were good to each other while being kept in the bathroom with a balcony. They are back.

I contacted RescueMe. There are grandparents who were left with a Cockatiel when the granddaughter went to college. They are not able to care for him and need to rehome him.

They are not able to bring him to me so I will go to Sarasota to get him.

There is a nap time at my house that starts at 2 pm and goes to 4 pm. The house is silent only at that time. Yesterday Rainbow did not nap. Instead he jumped down from the dining room table and came in my room. He climbed the bedspread and came to visit me. (He can think and plan ahead of time what he wants to do.) We had 2 hours of kisses and head scratches. It worked out so well yesterday that he will probably give up his naps and make it part of his schedule.

I really miss my 4 times a year casino trips that I used to do with the couple that claimed me as a sister. I now have a friend willing to drive to Port Richy and catch a casino trip. (It is not gambling. It is entertainment.) I will have to tell Rachel about Rainbows 2 hours of one on one.

My son will be out of town today. Tomorrow Rachel and I will go to Sarasota to get the little cockatiel.

The old couple are rethinking about rehoming the Cockatiel. I was telling them about my Cockatiels as a way to tell them that I really care about them. I guess they looked a little closer and are now seeing his personality. I invited them to the forum.

Gimpy is trying to straighten his leg. He hangs his weight on it from the wire screen cover. Before this he just sat on his twisted leg. I hope he succeeds in making it straight. It is a shame that he cannot perch.

I have been feeding the Amazons from the same plate. Yesterday I saw Myrtle pulling the dish to her but Rainbow grabbed a mouthful of seed to eat until she gave it up.

Flutter and Lacy seem to becoming an item. I see them together a lot.

Thank you Pajarita. I do not consider it a loss to me. It is a win for the cockatiel. The old couple did not really know how to look at him. In our emails back and forth they must have started looking closer at him to see his personality. I love it that they decided to keep him. They have my info if they need me. I hope they come in to the forum.

It looks like Bad Boy Flutter has decided he needs a wife. He suffered the loss of Tweet and really tried with the eggs. (They were fake.) Now I see him spending time with Lacy. They are so cute.
Lacy is the one with all her toes missing on one foot. Her mate Cagney died a few months ago. Flutter is surprising me that he is courting Lacy. He used to go through the flock and hump anyone who did not get away. He did not give Tweet any attention like this.

Awwww, that's GREAT!!!! I have found that although people talk about birds pining for their dead mate, they are actually much more pragmatic than that and, come breeding season, they will gladly look for another mate. Well, maybe not so much the larger species but the little ones definitely will.

Please explain to the couple that it would be much better for the bird if he had a mate.
