Vegetable Pasta with Quinoa

Postby Michael » Thu Jan 11, 2018 4:22 pm

Here's a video of my wife feeding vegetable pasta with quinoa. I have no idea what that is but it's funny watching them chomp on it so here you go:

Not a staple food for these birds but just something fun once in a while to mess around with.

"Hey, cutie!" Yes, they do LOVE pasta and, of course, quinoa which is high in protein. I don't use quinoa this time of the year but, as pasta is very low protein, it should be OK mixed with it. Mine do eat pasta but I use only the whole grain one and I don't cook it [they adore munching on the hard, uncooked noodles]

Well, I would not say it does and, besides, I would assume it's so very processed that most of the good things the vegetable has have already disappeared -with the exception of the ones made with tomato or carrots because betacarotene remains even after processing. But what the heck! Even a little bit of something is better than nothing so I sometimes buy the vegetable pasta for us but not for the birds because they only get 100 0/0 whole grain and I haven't been able to find any whole grain vegetable one - the only kind I find of vegetable pasta is made with white flour.
