Frozen better than fresh

Still another article about it with this one actually quantifying the benefit from 10 to 50% better nutrition. But I read recently (have to do more in-depth research on this though) that cabbages and peas are better fresh than frozen.

I see stuff going both ways now and then so I try to use both fresh and frozen depending on availability and my schedule.

I cover all bases, I use frozen (gloop), raw (daily produce) and cooked (gloop and, sometimes, daily produce -like corn on the cob or calabaza, for example) all the time. This way, I don't worry that I am missing anything (I am a big time worrier so I've learned to make my life easier by eliminating sources of worry from my life).

Same here. And I think the frozen fruits make a cooling summer treat.

Chance really likes the frozen mango.

I don't like the texture of the frozen fruits. I use frozen for vegetables and fresh for fruits.

Yes, fruits 'suffer' more than veggies with the freezing process because, normally (and I say 'normally' because we call veggies things that are fruits, like tomatoes, for example), they have more water than veggies (fruits being more juicy than veggies). When water freezes, it expands so cells that have a lot of water in them end up with 'broken' cell walls and, when the fruit thaws, the broken cells make it all mushy and kind of nasty. I don't know if the birds would eat them or not because I would not use anything that is THAT messy to begin with (bad enough with fresh fruit that ends up messing/staining everything).
