salted pistachios

are salted pistachios ok for parrots to snak on?

My quaker likes to mess around with it. he trying to get one to open, that keeps him busy for some time.
Not so much eating, well, once in the while he get one open and eats it, but no that much.
So is that ok?

I sis dome forum search here and didn't find any topics about it.

My mom is a health nut, so we never have salted nuts. The unsalted ones are better for you and a lot better for your fids.

They must be UNsalted... salted ones tend to have a ton of salt actually and it would be wayyyy too much for a parrot.

All critters need enrichment. If it is only one pistachio just brush the salt off. I give almonds and clean tree twigs to beat on.

I wouldn't recommend even one salted pistachio ... or anything salted for that matter. Its too much for their little bodies.

I buy unsalted pistachios at Walmart. I let Rainbow and Myrtle have one every morning to hold them off while I feed the other animals. They are the last fed but were happy with their pistachio. I let them pick their own out of the jar. Myrtle goes to the bottom to get the ones that are already out of the shell.
