[OFF TOPIC] Newbie, must rant about something...

Anyone else buggered off by the avatar settings/KB limit? I'm an artist and I make custom avatars for the forums I visit and the avatar settings here are a load of crap. And with the maximum image size being 150x150 ppi, about yey big, 6KB is impossible. Even a 50x50 ppi image, about yey big, will save to 60KB at the lowest resolution possible for clear viewing (i.e. you can tell what the image IS rather than a pixelated smudge of colors). I suffer with bipolar and have a bit of an issue with my mental/emotional stability, and not being able to shrink the custom avi I made specifically for this forum is really upsetting me, and being so upset over something so trivial upsets me even more. The custom avatars I make, call for at least 300KB, but putting them up at TinyPic shrinks them to between 32KB and 48KB. Custom avis = happy users. FIX THE KB LIMIT, PLEASE???

I was also a bit annoyed with that setting.

I played a LOT with it and managed to make it happen.
The avatar calls for at least 5 times the allowed KB limit. Adjusting in photoshop with "Save for Web & Devices" helped make it happen.

Granted, it couldn't be anything fancy.

FINALLY figured it out and now I'm happy. "Save for Web" plus TinyPic shrank it down nice and itty bitty.

The reason for it is that I don't want to sit there waiting for 10 minutes for the damn page to load because 10 huge avatar images have to be downloaded just so I could read the damn topics.

This forum allows for larger avatars than almost all forums out there as it is. Deal with it.
