new budgie cage large enough? lol

Postby TheNzJessie » Mon May 10, 2010 5:47 am

so today i decided to get my budgie a flight cage as i dont like the taller cage he is in because he only really uses the top and sleep on the bottom perch, i thought he would get more exercise in a flight cage and this one i picked up from a store called 'the bird barn' is is where i brought my budgie from and all my previous birds (its the only store i trust) every time i go there i spend about $40-80 on my budgie so i guess i keep them in business as i go 1-2 times a week haha here are 2 pictures (sorry about the second i didn't want to use the flash on the cage my budgie is in.

Are you sure you're not going to lose your budgie in the new cage?!

Your old cage looks very similar to the cage I just bought for my future budgie (currently will be used as a camping cage for my Amazon though). It was really hard to find a large enough cage with the proper bar spacing second hand. I think it's due to poorly educated employees working in pet stores around here. One cage I found had 1" bar spacing and they used to have a cockatiel in the cage! I asked them why they had bought a cage like that for a cockatiel and they said that's the cage that the employee had suggested they buy!

What are the dimensions of the new cage? I bet the little guy is going to love having so much room! :budgie:

New budgie?? Cmon, spill the beans

Nice "flight" cage btw. Does that mean you plan to let the budgie be flighted?

Length: 76 cm Depth: 46 cm Height: 46 cm

Divide by 2.54 to convert to inches.

Length: 29in Depth: 18in Height: 18in

Nothing quite like school maths to bring back the memories :)

only thing i dont like about this cage are the doors i call them gravity doors because i cant remember there actual name. i have twisty ties to keep the bird from opening them but its a pain when im getting him out all the time and swapping his food and spot cleaning. i need to make a trip to the bird barn and by the clips they sell for these doors...i cant find the clips anywhere else but the bird barn...i think they might of invented them lol
