Teaching Recall

Any of you know how to get a bird to fly a little gap im trying to teach Rocko flight recall but he tries to find a way across but he wont fly across a little gap but he can fly around the room I want him to know flight recall because it will be useful when we go to the park.

Ill try that but I dont have 2 training perches and I think Michaels is a bit expensive so im gonna use the back of two chairs.

Ok I tried it with two chairs and he was flying across then I increased the distance and he was doing great and then I removed the target stick and pointed and called his name he done brilliantly im gonna do it again later and remove one chair in the process.

So I offered him my arm and he flew across when I called him now im gonna continue doing it without the chair.

While it seems like you have it worked out I'm just curious if you were using a target stick. If not, you might want to go back and try it that way. I've found the target stick to be invaluable in all training.
