greencheek conure aggressive

I purchased a bonded pair greencheek conures that spent 2 yrs in the pet store. Was going great . Could handle both. My girl got her claw stuck in the rope toy in their cage and I helped her get unstuck. Now the male has become very aggressive towards me. Today he flew onto my shoulder and bit my neck (drew blood ). How do I stop his aggression towards me?

First thing to consider is the removal of that rope toy so that you don't have a repeat when you are not there to help as that could be catastrophic in its results.
Be patient with the male as he probably thinks that you were the cause of his mates distress and as a result is defending her.

Hmmmm, most likely it's that the honeymoon period is over. In my personal experience, GCC males tend to be super protective of their hens but you can work on developing a relationship where he will not bite you - I doubt he will ever become your pet, though, because having his own mate and after two years in a petstore, chances are, he never did develop a good one-on-one with a human and, now, he no longer needs it.
