This is actually about how birds evolved into different species. It basically says that species of birds that are more genetically predisposed to show differences from one population to another, are more likely to produce a new species and faster. Whenever something like this crops up in scientific studies, I always think they should use the lories as a sample because of the large number of different species there are in them - but, for some reason, scientists never use them
