What's a good parrot for me?

Postby parrotlover » Fri Jul 08, 2011 5:38 pm

OK well here's my situation. I have an Albino Snow CornSnake and I'm haveing to get rid of it. My mom is DEEPLEY terrified of the snake and I asked her about getting parrot. She said I can get a parrot on some conditions. She said that if I am responsible for it, make sure I give it ALOT of attention, and get one that's not going to be loud. Now since it's going to be in my room i'm looking for some conditions for myself, such as- Can I poty train it, What toys are good for scurying through while I'm gone 7 hours of the day at school, and What parrot would be loveing and like's to be held and be pet? :swaying:

Not for a first timer, they are VERY loud and very feisty. Many become cage aggressive.

you said you want a bird that doesn't make a lot of noise, all birds make a lot of noise no matter what species. my budgie makes more noise and any of my birds i have ever owned, he starts at about 5:30am and doesn't shutup until about 7 at night. if you really what a bird i would suggest a green cheek conure they seem to be a quieter species but still loud at times.

you are to make sure you dont mind giving up sleep ins, birds wake up very early for food and you have to make sure you are up to give it to them

I have both a cockatiel and two budgies.

I say, go for a hand raised budgie. Budgies make small chippering noises all day. And with one budgie, it's not really that loud.

But once a cockatiel starts going, they can get loud (for only for short periods of time).
