Cockatiel Poop

Postby parrotlover » Fri Jul 22, 2011 11:31 am

Hey I was wondering is Cockatiel poop dry like a Parakeet's or wet and gooy like a Macaw? I have carpet in my room and I don't want it to smell like crap if it does get in my carpet. (It's not like you would be able to see the poop in the carpet but still you don't want to walk in your room knowing that your carpet is a poop box. lol)

My bird has never pooped out the sides of the cage, they poop down into the bedding, so it shouldn't get in your carpet LOL.
And the gooey and dry bit, doesn't depen on species, it's hydration.
If your bird has wet poop its hydrated
If it's dry its not so hydrated.
So it depends on how much your parrot drinks :)
Thanks a LOAD Rachel =) :sun:

it air dries so it tries after a few minutes, but again it depends how how much your parrot drinks and what type of fruit and veg it eats. go to a bathroom store and get a plastic mate if he does poop outside the cage you can just use a wet wipe to clean it up.
