Which poicephalus to get?

Postby laducockatiel » Wed Sep 07, 2011 1:18 am

Hi. So I'm thinking about getting a poicephalus anytime soon. I would like one that is intelligent, not VERY loud (usual parrot noise is ok but not very loud constant screaming) and playful. If anyone has any of these I would appreciate any input. Thanks!

I have a Meyer's named Malachite and he is awesome. Not very loud at all, though he is learning from the others, and very sweet. He can be a bit of a jerk from time to time but not too much. He is very friendly with people but has tried to bite my other birds and has also gone after dogs. He is also very beautiful.

Here is a recent picture of him.

That doesn't really narrow down your search for any Poicephalus, it can easily apply to all of them.

I think this is one of the few times you can choose based on looks lol
They all seem to fit your requirements. Im partial to the red bellies but that's because I think they are stunning.
Good luck

I think Im going to get a Meyers parrot :meyers: They look amazing, and they have the personality that I want. I will probably get it at the end of this year, so I'm still doing my research.
