I just saw this thread and I must say I was actually nervous, reading every post hoping you would say you got him back. Poor birdie. Poor you! I'm so glad everything worked out okay.
Mt tiel was clipped when I brought him home as a baby, but he still managed to slip away from me and out a barely open window. I ran outside in pajamas and bare feet...I could see him flitting from branch to branch and he was crying out so I was able to maintain a sense of where he was even when I lost visual contact. After scrambling through the neighbor's shrubs and over her fence, I was lucky...he was so scared and worn out from his ordeal that he finally just landed on the ground and waited for me. It was a horrible ten minutes. I know how you must have felt. So relieved that your story had a happy ending!
