Liz, I doubt an old Mexican grandmother who, most likely, doesn't speak English, will agree to joining a birdsite. I hope I am wrong but I doubt it...
Do you know for a fact that the doctor has a male? And, before you give him Louise do make sure he takes good care of the one he has because lots and lots and lots of people say they love animals but that doesn't mean they actually do or that they take good care of them. I am involved with a proposal of law for New Jersey banning declawing for cats [mutilation that is both barbaric and cruel!] and was sent a story yesterday of a woman who calls herself not only an animal lover but an animal rights person who had had her kinkajou all four paws declawed! How can you call yourself an animal lover and a believer of animals right and do such a terrible, terrible thing to a poor, defenseless animal? Can you imagine the stress this poor thing is going to live under for the rest of its life? Kinkajous are arboreal animals and they need their claws to climb but they have doomed this one to the ground and, most likely, to chronic pain! People really have no idea what it means to love an animal... They think that wanting to own one is love and, if they have to torture the poor thing so it's easier for them to keep it, they go ahead and do it!
