Red Rump

I have a pair of red rumps. Sometimes the female enters the nest witout the male. But she dont stay there the whole day. The last time i looked in the nest there were no eggs. could this be that she is soon going to produce eggs.The male has never entered the nest he just stays outside singing. And this is the first time their breeding.
