I'll make a video to show you how I overcome this issue with Truman by turning his wings into the loop. And unlike Scotty, he has long primaries that I don't want to damage. So while Scotty is a bigger Cape, I doubt the wing fit for the harness should be any worse than Truman's case.

Can't wait for the video, you just reminded me that this is one of the main issues with the wings on lorenzo, the long primaries as he's not clipped and its very hard to get them into the wingloop in the harness. without having to bend the wings.

Scotty does have his primaries now. I'll be looking for the video.

EntrancedbymyGCC you have/know horses right?? Think of it like float training, no one likes a horse who rushes out down the ramp (I have a big TB who rushes of and whacks his head every time), so you yeah them to take one step back or forward on the ramp when you ask. I don't expect any less of my birds. 700kgs of muscle is a lot more to work with than 100gms of feather. Therefore, I expect my birds (or atleast Rory cause he's the only harness trained bird) to have to harness partially taken off and wait, then a little more and wait, and then he rest. We have the feather tether harness, which while can be tedious thanks to tiny buckles in odd places, means a can unbuckle it and then leave if tight around his neck, then loosen it and leave it on and then finally take it off. Rory has started learning that once I loosen it and say 'take it off' he can shake his head around and flick it off himself which he gets great satisfaction out of, but the smart little man will only take it off if you tell him to :)

I have a similar problem, I could slide it on Akila easily enough but when I try to take it off he will bite and chew at it or grab it with his foot, and then gets upset when I try to remove it from his grasp. Last time didn't go well at all set us back quite a bit. I think the Aviator is a great design I just wish it didn't have to slide over the head.

I just had an idea, could you loose the harness is a way it could be slid off the bird, over it's back and tail? Rather that pulling it against the feathers and negotiating wings/head??

No way. The harness is made such that it can't slip back and off the parrot while it is in flight. The collar can't go over the back/shoulders, and if it could it would be way too big for the bird.
