EntrancedbymyGCC you have/know horses right?? Think of it like float training, no one likes a horse who rushes out down the ramp (I have a big TB who rushes of and whacks his head every time), so you yeah them to take one step back or forward on the ramp when you ask. I don't expect any less of my birds. 700kgs of muscle is a lot more to work with than 100gms of feather. Therefore, I expect my birds (or atleast Rory cause he's the only harness trained bird) to have to harness partially taken off and wait, then a little more and wait, and then he rest. We have the feather tether harness, which while can be tedious thanks to tiny buckles in odd places, means a can unbuckle it and then leave if tight around his neck, then loosen it and leave it on and then finally take it off. Rory has started learning that once I loosen it and say 'take it off' he can shake his head around and flick it off himself which he gets great satisfaction out of, but the smart little man will only take it off if you tell him to
