Right After Getting My Parrot

Postby parrotlover » Sun Jul 10, 2011 5:37 pm

OK is there anything I need to do right after I get my parrot? Like do I need to bring him to a Vet. or anything? Do they need shots, vitamins, and/or mite/bug repellent? I hear the mite/bug repellent can harm your parrot; is that true? Also do all pet stores like PetSmart have there birds wings clipped?

Petsmart does not clip their birds.... or at least not budgies. I had one before and it zoomed out of the box right when we opened it, so take my mistake and make sure the bird doesn't try to fly into walls.

I think Petsmart clips none of their birds. To them it's just not worth the time or money.

good, i got my tiel from a breeder and they are so much better because most of them atcually love their birds and miss them, whereas most shops just sell them and keep them in tiny cages. i once saw a macaw in a cage just big enough for a cockatiel, it was horrendous and made me furious. my breeder missed my baby tiel wen i got him or her so i promised her that i would send her pictures and let her know how he is doing.
