Yeah, Scooter uses my entire computer desk as his playstand. Not very portable though!

I like that second item, too. If the ladder seems problematic, you could wrap the rungs with something to pad them out. Leather tied on with thongs, for example. It would be destroyable but potentially a lot of fun!

Brittanyv326 wrote:It is also for sale from a different website for $90. I've been looking at the second one since before I got my bird and just recently bought it used from craigslist for $65. My bird absolutely loves it. Those rings on the top are so strong, I put a natural wood perch through with the washers and that's her spot. That dowel across the top is replaceable. The bowls are HUGE and I think ceramic. She doesn't have problems with the ladder rungs, she gets from top to bottom and bottom to top totally fine. Also, the perches next to the bowls can be replaced too! So all in all, I rate this thing A+!

For sale for $90:

Maybe later I'll post some pictures of her playing on it..

Thank you all so much for all of your suggestions! Yes, computer things, household items, really anything, is attractive to Binx. I even caught him trying to eat the wax out of a candle (not burning of course :-) ) I just enjoy bringing him in the living room with me while i read or somewhere to put him after we take a shower. Instead of him unrolling the TP all over the bathroom, then chewing little triangles in it. :-) As much fun as that is, I dont have time to clean it all up before i head to work in the morning. HAH

Thank you all again, you are so much help!

I actually have option #2. While I do like it and the birds do play on it at times, the preferred perch/tree here are the Java wood tabletop stands and full tree I have.

I just realized that I had that same exact tabletop playstand! My gcc demolished it.

I would go with the second pic , right now they all have playtops on the top of their cages but we also have a nice bottlebrush playgym they all share but if that ever bites the dust I would order the 2nd playgym :) :senegal:

You can get the second one cheaper at drfostersmith.com than at petsmart.

i had your second choice rolling perch and it was great for my guys! they liked it for a while but it gets boring so make sure you give them ropes to climb all around the sides and so on...

Great advice you all! I did infact buy the second one! Here are some pictures of my WONDERFUL husband putting it together!

BTW, I let Binx hang out with us while we were putting it together. I think it actually did him good. As soon as we were done he was ready to hop on and try it. He usually has to move slowly into things, but i think keeping him in there with us, he knew what was going on!
