A 15 year old pet eclectus ended up in a Virginia zoo and will be trained - the sheer cruelty of putting a pet parrot in a zoo is undeniable but the worst part is that this bird is old at 15 (there has never been a single captive ekkie that has lived to see 40!) and sick - look at his plumage: black spots all over his body, primaries with raggedy ends, discolored beak... what were these people thinking?!
