Oh!
And I totally remember why I was going to reply to this in the first place.
About the clipping comment, I would not clip her.
My two green cheeks are still being hand fed and the female is older than the male and she was a beautiful flyer when we visited the breeder. But I heard such horror stories of birds flying into doors or windows and dieing, So I clipped Mikas thinking I would clip Nikos when his wings got a little stronger (so he could still fly a few feet after they were clipped) but now I dont want to clip him, lol
And I regret clipping Mikas wings...now I want her to molt so they'll grow back out.
I'm hoping she'll remember how to fly, she was a great flyer before I clipped her
I feel bad now, haha
I love having Niko fly to me from his cage.
And yes, they are a little more independent and I have to watch him more...but I think its awesome when he flys around
And idk, its just taking away birds lively hood when we clip them (I realize this now
)
And I just decided not to live in fear about them hitting a door or something.
If we all thought that way we'd be no where in life.
So thats my two cents! I know there are many who will disagree with me :p
P.S. My thing says no on flighted because I have parrotlets too (they were supposed to be pets but now they're just breeders because the breeder lied about them being babies and now they're bonded and breeding and hate me
lol) and the breeder clipped them.
So three out of the four parrots are clipped (sadly) but I would have them not be if I decided now.
Although idk about the parrotlets...they'd just be trouble makers with their wings for sure lol
