Thanks everyone on the well wishes & the like.
The breeder guessed all 4 birds sexes correctly when the other 2 Senegals and 2 Grays were sexed, this boy has not been DNA'd but he agrees there is little chance he is actually a
she.
Weight dropped to 142 grams this morning (empty) as well as this evening (empty). I have him on 2 hand feedings which should help the next few days on his transition however I am VERY pleased with how much of the fresh veggies he is eating. Hopefully he'll jump on the pellets with gusto as well (he eats them no problem if I feed him but seemed to only have picked at them a bit while I was at work today)
I had rushed home with the dread of coming home and finding something was wrong, instead I opened the door to my room and had a high pitch FEED ME MOM! scream to greet me.
I've not even bothered to treat train or clicker train him to step up - he has figured out on his own that when I say 'step up' he should do so. I did however spend about 7-10mins getting him used to the clicker which he hasn't even blinked at, he is already moving to my target stick when I say 'target'. Thankfully it has quickly become apparent that his fav veggie to date is cauliflower as he devours it like the world is coming to an end
I used that as his treat in training today
Now I HAVE noticed he is a "foot holder". Any advice on what is best to offer him to eat which is lightweight but large enough that he can hold it to eat it?
