I'm sorry to hear about all of this Michael. Don't put too much blame on yourself, like many animals birds can also sense your mood and if you are depressed and down over everything it might rub off on Truman as well!

We're all here for you, if you need to talk your welcome to blab away all you need or want to to me.

It is things like this that helps us ALL learn what to and what not to do in situations that you take for granted. It also reminds us all how fragile our little fids actually are.

Jeesj Micheal. Thats horrible. Poor bird. Its a good hing you have a vet available where you can leave him in good care.
Like everyone else has said already, stop beating yourself up. Everybody makes mistakes. How big was the chance that he would actually break something by crashing? Not like you could have seen that coming.

I'll keep him in my thoughts and hope you will be able to have a nice weekend anyway. Keep your mind on the job. Truman is going to be ok in a few weeks. But a wedding is a once in a life time thing (thats the idea anyway). They deserve the best pictures. And we all know how good you are with the camera. So heads up!

aww truman, dont beat your self up michael everyone makes mistakes. at least your prepared to pay the vet bill, most people would look at a close to 1k bill and not be prepared to pay it....at least your taking responsibility and providing him with the right treatment.

**hugs**

Poor little guy :( .I bet Kili is missing his buddy! I'm sure he's in the best of hands with your avian vet who is no doubt prescribing lots and lots of nice pain killers...I would ;) ...and they likely explain the sleepiness. I call them "happy drugs" when I'm giving them to my patients :macaw:

Yeah but he's been really sleepy since before he was drugged up as well. I'm off to go visit him right now, bye.

Sorry to hear about Truman. Thankfully you were able to get him in to an Avian Vet, he'll be in good hands. Hopefully he'll heal up nicely and quickly and be back to his old self in no time.

And don't blame yourself, these things happen. Glad to hear you're not considering clipping him after this. Clipped birds are just as likely (if not moreso) to get spooked and get injured. Hope you feel better soon!

So sorry about Truman! And please, don't beat yourself up about it, it was an honest accident...and in real life, things do happen, despite our best intentions and all the precautions we take.

Sounds like Truman will be fine! The two of you will up and running/flying again before you know it...
