Archimedes' name is ironic...

Postby Azure Hanyo » Thu Aug 19, 2010 10:49 am

My cockatiel proved today that he is an idiot. :P I opened his cage to let him out, and all of the sudden he flies off, smacks into a wall, lands in my daughter's bed, and as soon as he rights himself he starts fluffing and grooming himself. I picked him up and inspected him for injury, finding none but I will keep my eye on him today just to be sure. He is very new to this flying business, and it shows.

*face-palm* My goofy little guy...

ahaha, maybe he just didn't want to look silly in front of you so he decided to be all suave and start grooming himself ;) it works for kitties. other than that, tiels are great flyers and I bet archimedes will get the hang of it... eventually... :) I remember my cockatiel escaped for a week once, and man could she fly! flying in the living room is one thing but flying outside in the open air is another, especially since she was a pied mututation and a very pretty yellow in the sky. though of course I hope this never happens with your guy! its waaay too stressful (my dad literally started to cry when we finally got her safe and sound again, and he's the stern type)
good luck

What an adorable little goof! lol Everyone has to start flying somewhere, and methinks he has a fairly good start! Also, with a name like Archimedes how can he not try to make himself look pretty even after a fall like that
