There are a few "parrot shaming" sites. This one's pretty funny http://www.ba-bamail.com/content.aspx?emailid=12510 The Rb refuses to hold still and pose with a shaming note, but I did get a video of him killing one. Click here
Oh, and about that raggedy flight feather... He just finished growing out a beautiful set of turquoise beauties, but then during one of his conniptions, he bent one out at a right angle. Now I have to look at (and photograph) that for a year, unless it straightens out or falls out.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
I know, I should be grateful he HAS feathers, after all I've put him through, especially for the 20+ years I was working, all the moves, feeding him so many eggs, etc.
Whoahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! He pulled that damaged feather out. I found it on the cage floor, root and all, no blood. I guess he knew it was messed up.
Here he is, minus right-angle feather (visible in previous shaming vid, performing a percussion tune he composed, using plastic links and his cage-top. I believe he is titling it "Ode to the Parrot Forum".
Thank you, Rickeybird, for the lovely composition you created in our honor!
And yes, as I was reading your first posting about the feather, I was thinking that it was not going to last a year - they don't allow a single broken, bent or crooked feather to remain, it's a survival trait because a bird with a defective plumage is vulnerable.
