G'day Angela 33,
I had a male rainbow lorikeet for a couple of years back in the early 1990s.
Back before the special feed powder was available at pet shops.
I spent a lot of time mixing up the slurry for Wally.
Also finding some bottle brush flowers to put in the cage.
Being nectar feeders they can make a mess when they lift their tail.
So, newspaper was placed on the lounge room floor when every Wally was out of his cage.
Very energetic and always tunneling under the newspaper to appear and squawk.
He used to spend a lot of time dunking his head into an old china beer stein to fetch out keys.
Then drag the keys around with him, until I put them back into the stein for him to repeat the caper.
Sadly, I had to give him away when I relocated due to work.
Steve.
