Computer Rights

Postby zazanomore » Tue Mar 15, 2011 3:06 pm

I have officially taken away Einstein's computer rights.

For the past few days, he has been continuously ripping out the keys. I always manage to get them back on, but now half of my keys are loose.

Today, he even grabbed a key, took it, flew off, and now I can't find it.

Computers and Parrots do not mix. I feel for anyone else who has a keyboard chewing monster :P

I'm jealous! I wish Apple were active enough to even go around and explore.

Scooter actually has given up messing with the keyboard, but I still have to watch my mouse like a hawk. (How's that for zoo-mixed metaphors?) What he actually REALLY enjoys is taking a bottle cap or plastic toy from his "toy box" on my desk, pulling it into the keyboard drawer and then dropping out the back side of the drawer so that I have to get on my hands and knees under the desk to retrieve it.

I wonder whom an alien species would conclude is the intelligent species here?

My new little guy is fascinated by the keyboard and mouse. It seems the keyboard is something to tap-dance across to get to the rubber part on the mouse.

My budgies couldn't care very much less about the computer. I try to get them to snuggle with me, and they fly away back to their cages. They have no desire to chew keyboards or a mouse.

Oh Einstein!

Merlin, our grey, has taken a few keys out of Husband's keyboard, but Stryder (our tiel) only sits on the monitor without any destructive acts :D.

Rosco doesn't sit or get near the keyboards, so we're good on the Caique end too!

The budgies are very polite when it comes to the computer. They will sit on top of the screen, and preen and chirp little sing-songs.

My budgies hate me. It's an effort to get them to even step up unless they want something. And they have no desire for treats, so that doesn't work either.

The new guy is a cuddler, though. He loves to cuddle before bedtime and sit on my shoulder at the computer.. and then he sees the rubber on the mouse and tries to rip it off. It's weird getting used to a cuddlebug bird!

How old are your budgies? It's taken a while to get to the point where they trust me. I got my budgies last April, and I spent months taming them.

They still don't cuddle with me like Einstein does, but on rare occasions they will preen my hair.

I got Pigpen in September for my birthday. My best guess puts her between 12 and 18 months. Bird with No Name was gotten as a Christmas present for Pigpen, and I'm guessing he's between 9 and 12 months old.

Pigpen will fly on my shoulder if I ask her to step up. No Name will hop up on my finger if I badger him enough. Cheney Bird will hop up immediately and come cuddle at any time of the day. And chew the cord on my phone, keyboard, mouse. My ear, the skin off my finger, my calculator, the tv remote, the speaker cords, the cord to the webcam. Basically, he's a chewer, lol.
