I am proud to announce Leroy the great!
We let him out of his cage today for the first time since arriving, as he was targeting 100% of the time and wow were we pleasantly suprised. Not only did he want to be with us, but he landed on our arms as well as the perches in the room. Target training was flawless and it was easy peasy getting him back into the cage with targeting again!

Thanks, yes we think he is beautiful! Almost like a fairytale bird ^^. The blue is very prominent in his coloring, even more so when not in a camera flash

I honestly dont know, as they havnt met yet ! We are taking it very slow, and want Leroy to be at least moderatly tame before introducing them to one and other. However, we are nearly there I think, as Leroy now knows step up as well as flight recall.
I estimate that we will introduce them to each other in a week or so, and first by just being in different cages in the same room. After that we will move on to being out of the cage at the same time, and eventually they will be moving into a new aviary/cage I am building together, so that its a new turf and they dont have to be territorial with "their" old cage. The key phrase how we are going to take this is; step by step.
First, get Leroy comfortable in his new surroundings. Check
Then work on targeting. Check
Move onto step up, also Check
Flight recall was a nice bonus and he learned it in one session. Check
And now this is where we are at, they will soon meet but in different cages =).
