A Hello from Baltimore

Postby pfinarffle » Fri Feb 12, 2010 12:04 pm

Greetings! My boyfriend and I are fostering an older :senegal: named PeeWee from the East Coast organization Phoenix Landing. It's been a terrific experience since late November. Hope to learn a lot from others here, especially those who are owned by other :senegal: s.

Stay warm,
-Pinar

Welcome! That's wonderful that you foster for an organization like that! Is PeeWee your first foster bird? How did you get involved with Phoenix Landing?

That's a really cute :amazon: you've got there! Almost looks like a baby being burped! :D

Yes, PeeWee's our first foster and first bird. This fall I realized I'd gotten a tad too attached to the cardinals that were no longer frequenting our balcony's feeder; so I started investigating parrot ownership since my family growing up had a Timneh :gray: as well as a male :cockatiel: . I read about the possibility of adopting a bird. Initially, I checked out various local animal shelters, but no parrots were to be found. Somehow read about Phoenix Landing on a message board somewhere and things just magnificently fell into place.
