New Senegal Owner

Postby Riqui1 » Wed Aug 09, 2023 9:06 pm

Good evening!

I am excited to be here and to learn as much as I can. I have "inherited" my aunt's Senegal Parrot, Riley and want to give him the best care possible. I am so glad I found this forum and can't wait to dig in. Right now, I'm just trying to understand his behavior, so I know how to interact. For example, since the moment I put him in his new cage, he's been hanging upside down and "dancing." I'm hoping that means he approves!!

I can't wait to chat with (and learn from) you all!

Hi. Riqui and Riley, welcome to the forum and congrats on your new friend. No, hanging upside down and, although I don't know what you mean by 'dancing' (they do 'dance' but it's a courtship behavior), her, most likely wants freedom from the cage. Is Riley a mqale or a female? How old? What's his diet? Light schedule?
