Hello!

Postby xLogan » Mon Aug 02, 2010 3:44 pm

Hey bird-crazy folks :hatching: ,

I'm Logan, and I'm new here (obviously,) came here for advice over a few of my birds. :)

Anyways... I live in Oklahoma, and I have been obsessed with birds and raised with them my whole life. I currently have two Hahns Macaws, & a Cockatiel in my room.

The family bird is our Triton Cockatoo, very beautiful.

Then, Buddy, our African Grey is bonded to my brother and the Blue & Gold Macaw is bonded to my step-dad. I can post pictures of all the birds, if anyone would like to see!

TTYL!

EDIT: We have had Buddy for years, we recently got rid of our other African Grey for the Triton Cockatoo and Blue & Gold Macaw... I've had the Hahns Macaws and Cockatiel for about a week or so. :) All the birds we have were previously owned; the Hahns Macaws seem to be in somewhat bad shape, one's breasts is totally bare, pink skin from plucking it's feathers but I think she stopped.

Each day, I talk to my Hahns Macaws for atleast 20 minutes and hand them grapes and seeds so they will get used to my hands. They're quite frightened of me most of the time, I can sometimes put my hand in the cage and hand them food. Mostly, I do it through the bars of the cage.

Welcome aboard.

I've very sorry you had to rehome your grey...did he have some health or behavioural issues you couldn't resolve? It's very hard to have to give up a pet...

Yes, it was plucking it's feathers, and had a hard time bonding to anyone; a friend wanted her, and they got the Cockatoo and Macaw for us, rescued, so as a favor, we gave them Holly, our grey. :)

But, I'm sure she's in better hands now.
