New to Parrots!

Hi, all!

My name's Christina and in twelve days I get my very first parrot (I'm not excited at all... lol)!! She's a ten year old blue-headed pionus and I have to admit that I'm nervous as well as excited - I want to do everything right by her and I know that she's going to be sad for a little while when she gets here due to being uprooted and losing her current flock.

My family currently consists of dogs, a cat, numerous reptiles, my boyfriend, and myself. I had finches in the past but lost them due to a power outage that lasted nearly the entire day and happened when I was at work (I live in Canada and it gets bloody COLD here in winter!) but this will be my very first parrot.

I'm really looking forward to availing myself to the information and experience that you guys have here and can't wait to be sharing some of my own experiences as well!
