High School (Years 7-12 in Australia) English teacher. I leave for work at about 7.15, and get home about five most days. Rory gets out of cage time from six to 7.15 in the morning, and five to eleven at night. I'd love to take him to work with me, but I suspect that the kids would just want to compete with his screaming, and they're loud enough on their own.

Love my job, even if some days I'm sure it'd be easier to manage a room of 30 parrots than 30 kids.

Full time Pet Lover! Full time bookseller at a used bookstore chain :) My real wish is that I could be a stay at home pet lover (maybe mom someday) but have decided that we don't quite make enough money for that yet ;)

Heh, why do I have the feeling you could teach the courses? I hope the profs can keep up with you!

I am an Air Traffic Services Officer, training to become an Air Traffic Controller. I work at O R Tambo International airport in Johannesburg, South Africa. I work shifts...morning 6am - 1pm, afternoon 1pm - 8pm, day 9am - 5pm, night 8pm - 6am...and therefore am able to spend a fair amount of time at home with Jodi! I'm not sure it would go down so well if i was to take her to work with me, but i would love to as i miss her so much when i am not with her!

I am also a horsey person...i saw some other horsey people on here. Heehee! We breed welsh ponies, mostly Section D welsh cobs, and also Thoroughbred race horses. I don't have a horse of my own at the moment due to the financial cost...but my Mom has a lovely 6 year old Thoroughbred that i ride for her, she has a welsh cob mare she enjoys more.

I am a Medical Laboratory Technician and have worked in a hospital lab, public health department lab, physician office lab and now work for Laboratory Corporation of America as a Technical Specialist in a Customer Service Department on second shift. I does leave me time to work with my lovebird in the mornings but they are alone in the evenings until I get home from work. My husband has been in the nursing home for rehab after his major surgery and will be coming home in about a week. He will be home with them all day. :swaying: :gcc: :?

At my place we all chip in to take care of the birds. The feeding and cleaning is all me, but the important stuff- spending time and giving the birds attention- we all share in those duties. I work on the road for AAA (I'm the AAA dude) and I work 4 10 hour days. On my 3 days off I'm home with the birds. On the other days I see them in the morning and put them to bed at night, but either my boys (not to be confused with The Kids) or girlfriend are here with the birds. The birds spend only a few hours a day alone.

My quaker :monk: , who I've only had a week and a half, is already bonding to me and when I'm not here he gets squawkey/screechey and has some issues with agoraphobia I'm working on with him. So when I'm not here he gets very loud hopefully this phase ends quickly! The kids and Hades :greycockatiel: spend most of the day on the perch. The kids we have to keep a close eye on because those hell raisers will go exploring or just mess with the other birds. Hades just flies to his cage when he gets hungry and will fly back to the perch after eating.

So our day jobs don't leave the birds alone very much and the birds (and dogs- we have 2) do keep each other company when we are gone. We have a good thing going here!
