Two paintings of two of my birds

Postby Natacha » Wed Apr 14, 2010 6:49 pm

My boyfriend has had two paintings of two of my birds done by a local artist, who is also a bird fanatic (he works at a local pet store I go to (one of the good ones) and we also meet at the local parrot club meetings).

The first one is of Piper and he gave it to me for Christmas (not sure if I shared this one here already or not).

The second one is of Shade and it was for no special occasion really, but if one must associate it with something, it could be to celebrate our two years living together.

I'll probably get one of Joey done soon, as a birthday gift from myself to myself ;)
Not knowing how to pick which one to get done first, the order of them getting done ended up being the order I got the birds.

OMG, that is just such a typical Senegal Parrot look. Like the stance looks so familiar. Lovely paintings, what a fantastic gift idea.

What amazing paintings Natacha!

Is the artist located on the London area? My husband and I are always keeping our eye open for any kind of parrot art, and I think that's brilliant to have paintings of your own birds.

And I agree with Michael ... every Senegal owner knows that stance/look well.

He's located in Ottawa.
Here is a link to his website.

The last few years, he's been at the Canadian Parrot Conference in Guelph and I'm assuming he'll be there again this year, as the store he works at normally has a booth that he tends to, as well as selling his own art. As November draws closer, you could probably ask him if he'll be there with some of his artwork.

OMG! Natasha Frank did a picture of my sun conure as well! I also love that pet store, my favorite place for bird supplies, have you seen the baby green wing macaw they have now. She's so sweet :)

Anyways..your paintings are gorgeous! this is the one he did of Briar :)
