Dozens of domesticated pigeons (they cannot make it on their own) rescued from Golden Gate park after been abandoned:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/dozen ... r-BB10u0MQMore than half the racing pigeons on the South Africa race are missing (and it has been already four weeks so these birds are all, most likely, dead). On a personal note, I know a few pigeon breeders (from ABBA where I get my supplies) and I can attest to the fact that the poor things are one of the most abused animals in the world! Even the good breeders are not good to them because all they care about is winning, there is no love for the animal at all (they regularly 'cull' the ones that are not very good and that means killing them).
https://www.msn.com/en-za/news/other/bi ... r-BB10ndCVUsing ambulance sirens to scare off birds because the residents are worried that the poop they leave behind will sicken them -when it has been proven that there is nothing bad in bird poop! And, mind you, we are not talking about big Canadian geese or anything like that - we are talking little passerines like sparrows, etc. Most people are not only ignorant but also terribly intolerant and self-centered, aren't they?
