Asking on behalf of someone else... is fuzzy/hairy gourd safe for parrot consumption? I believe it is also called winter melon and wax gourd, among other names.

As far as I know, any member of the cucurbita family (gourd/squash/pumpkin/Calabaza) is safe for birds.
