Pellets: Zupreem versus NutriBird?

Postby rebeccaturpeinen » Thu Sep 22, 2011 11:41 am

Hi,

Jo has been on Zupreem (the coloured ones) and she likes them. Now a petstore nearby expanded and started selling NutriBird pellets. Just wondering if anyone has heard of these?

Personally,I have never used nutri bird pellets. I have, though, checked out the ingredients of the nutri bird pellets and they look a lot better than the zupreem ones purely because of the fact that the zupreem pellets tend to contain a lot of artificial ingredients which are not good for birds. In mu opinion, i would go for the nutri bird pellets because they look a lot healthier.

I use nutribird on recommendation from both our amazon's breeder, and our local bird community.

Its a great pellet imo, the pieces are a little bit bigger and Stitch loves to hold them with one hand while eating. He much prefers them over Tropican (I think thats the name). From my understanding all colors etc are from natural sources, which is a lot better than artificial ingredients.

Another brand that is reccomended by many is Harrissons, but we havnt tried those (we havnt had our little guy for that long).

I hate Zupreem and will never feed my birds them. The coloring is so strong it stains the poop. There are also a bunch of cancer-causing ingredients. Can't say much about Nutribird.

I would highly recommend you buy pellets online because it's not very expensive if you buy in bulk.

Hey cage cleaner, try Totally organics pellets. I think this is the best out there truthfully. If you google their ingredients, it's sooo healthy. I'm buying those when Harrisons runs out.

Doscvt( sp error), bake bird bread with veggies and pellets. Many people do this for their birds. Ver easy and nutritious.

Not sure about that. I only buy the small bags. I think Harrison's and Totally Organic Pellets are the best pellets currently available and I rotate between the two.

Try soaking the pellets in juice for about 20min before serving, (then remove all fluid) and then gradualy add less and less juice and let it soak for less and less time (making the pellets harder) until they eat the pellets. It took us 2 days to convert stitch to a pellet diet =).
