That business is famous for selling unsafe/hazardous products on their web store. Dangerous toys, sandpaper perches, mite protectors, unsafe metals, etc all compromise the health and safety of our birds.

Worst part? They know it and they won't get rid of their products because they sell so well. A lady I know has been writing letters to them over the years and the company replied that they consulted a vet, are fully aware of the dangers of their items but won't take them down due to great profit.
I refuse to support such an unethical business.

if you're looking for a good site with a comprehensive line of avian products, check out www.mysafebirdstore.com. It's a much better site with great prices and products, I know an army of very happy customers. Kathie offers 10% first time discounts and there are good promotions often.

The person I have received this info from is definitely credible and spends a lot of her time researching what is best for her birds and sticks to principle over nything else. It would be ridiculous for her to have lied over this,IMO.

For quite a number of years I've purchased various types of items....lots of reptile supplies, small animal supplies, lots & lots of bird supplies, etc., from The Docs' website but I myself haven't had any catastrophe's yet. I just wish that claim of "unsafe/hazardous/dangerous" items was a lot more specific.

However, simply by perusin' this website I WAS turned on to http://www.mysafebirdstore.com and I must agree that it IS the bomb!

Sandpaper perches, mite protectors, toys with unsafe metals. No avian vet would recommend the use of any of these products.
