I've had terrible terrible experiences with the 'no name' or 'cheap but good quality' cages, like toxic metals, malfitting/flimsy/missing parts and sharp welds or jagged pieces (I sliced my hands and knees on the cage, my TAG knicked herself as well). Not to mention it takes forever to put them together and the paint job is often crappy/damaged or the bars themselves are---they rust easy too.
So for me--- NO *^&%$ING WAY!!! I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A CHEAP CAGE AGAIN!!!
That said, YMMV and you could get lucky. Myself, I'd go good quality in a size you can afford first---and start quickly saving. I'm looking into the aluminium cage line from Kings Cages---my TAG lives in their largest aluminium travel carrier and though it is small for her I've been extremely impressed with it quality-wise and I know that she's safe and I am quickly amassing money to purchase the big enough cage.
