Update on my new baby EKKIE

Postby Bicky » Thu Mar 29, 2012 8:51 am

It's been a long time since I've said hi!
Anyway, to update everyone, I am getting a purebred Aru ekkie who will be home by May or June. I will try to upload a picture when I learn how to resize it.

Anyhow, I'm planning on getting a 40x30 cage. I work from 8-6 so he will be in it for those hours. Do you think it will be big enough?

I think it will be in line with what people here tend to reccomend. I would go as big as possible (both with regards to your space, and budget), its what Ive been doing myself :).
What a cute parrot btw :D !

As big as possible is what is generally recommended. Just be careful of bar spacing! It seems bigger cages are hard to find with smaller bar spacing. I'm not sure what the bar spacing is supposed to be for an ekkie, but it's probably not as wide as the spacing for a macaw.
