Hi everyone!
I got an invitation from Michael to join so I figured I would.
I currently own 5 parrots; one peachface lovebird, one Senegal parrot, one Red-bellied parrot and two Meyer's parrot. I might have a *slight* addiction to Poicephalus parrots...
I do intend to one day also have a female Red-bellied parrot (my RB is a male) and a Cape parrot.
I've been around birds for a little over 5 years; I have experience from birds ranging of the size of Lovebirds all the way up to Moluccan cockatoo. I'm lucky enough to have a mother who shares my passion of parrots; she's also my #1 birdsitter (how nice to know someone knowledgeable takes care of them when I'm away).
Almost all of my birds are rehomed parrots: although I got Piper (Lovebird) as a baby, she actually has been in another family before joining mine; Joey (Red-bellied), who I got just shy of his third hatchday, had one previous owner as well; Petey (Meyer's) was 13 when I got her and went through a number of homes and Zuri (Meyer's) had a previous owner before ending up with me. Only Shade (Senegal) only had me as an owner but as a baby she had pretty bad leg problems but overcame them wonderfully.
I have a parrot blog which you can find here http://poiworld.blogspot.com/ and you can also see videos of my birds on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/poicephaluslady.
