All pearly' sores are healed now that the vet caused and I won't soon forget about it. Put me so far behind with her feathers because of all the bandages and medication on her skin. Feathers around her neck , chest and back just gooped up and malformed them but after a good bath things look a little better. Now to work on making her look like a cockatoo . She feels great and is getting really sassy. I started calling her munchousien as she loves to take medication and be fussed over, almost obsessively. I still have no word on YaYa' S operation with the specialist up north and she's had the records for 9 days now. Seems like more of the same. I'm at the mercy of all these drag your feet vets and not liking it at all. Rio the macaw that I'm babysitting is turning into a real special girl. She has so much freedom here that she is soaking everything up like a little sponge. She plays on the lawn like a puppy , running climbing , chasing the cat or butterfly's it's pretty crazy. Hope the owner likes his new bird when he gets home
The rest of the flock is well but things aren't ideal as the smoke is to much here in S.O and it's really cut down on outside playtime. I can get them outside for a few hours in the morning and sometimes in the evening if the wind comes up and clears the valley out but that's it for the last week. When there outside it gives me time to clean up there messes without them going right behind me and making more.
Got a call from the restaurant a few days ago Sara my daughter in law gave me a number of a guy that wants to surrender his cockatoo. Said he forgets to feed it all the time and to call in the afternoon because he was out of minutes on his phone and would put more on then. Well that's been 3 days ago and the phone still won't take calls. I keep thinking about that poor bird with this horrible record heat wave we're having.
Sara said when he comes back in she will get the address or just have him bring it to the restaurant. Well enough for now !
