Skid's watchful eye

Postby Pajarita » Wed Nov 06, 2019 10:05 am

I am always of two minds when I see videos like this one. On the one hand, I think they are soooo cute but, on the other, I can't help but feel sorry for the bird... I mean, all he wants is to be with his humans because of parrots need for 24/7/365 company. I never keep a door closed between me and the birds (unless there is an emergency or some sort of a peremptory reason for it and then it's never long enough for them to worry). I even go to the bathroom with the door open so they can see and hear me and I can see and hear them.

I don't like being cut off from my birds. My son,Charles, put a screen door on the cockatiel room with the screen replaced by cage wire. They can hear me all day and can even hang on the screen when they want to call me for conversations.

They start calling me about an hour before feeding time as if I could forget. They can get really noisy. It is almost as if they are in the same room that I am.

That's what I am planning on doing on the birdrooms when I move back home - that way, the birds can live cage-free all day long, see and hear me but safe from dogs, cats, visitors and doors that are open, or whatever.
